Automatic metal snap fastener

To ensure quick deployment and stability, we have designed automatic metal spring clips on both sides of the CardPOD. These metal spring clips are made from specially processed materials, providing high strength and wear resistance, allowing them to support the maximum weight and keep the overall support stable. When unlocking, simply press the metal spring clips on both sides, and you can easily push the top cover back down.

CardPOD utilizes a MagSafe-compatible magnetic ring. Unlike clip-on mounts that might accidentally press buttons or damage the screen, the magnetic ring provides stable support and allows for quick attachment or removal without excessive structural components.

Additionally, the CardPOD’s magnetic ring offers a reverse pull force of 500gf. For instance, with an iPhone 13, it provides 500gf of pull from the front and 300gf from the back, easily securing the phone. The CardPod is also compatible with MagSafe phone cases, or you can use an additional magnetic ring on a regular phone case to make it compatible with CardPod.

• Phones with MagSafe generally have a magnetic force of about 220gf, allowing them to attach directly to the CardPOD.
• For phones without MagSafe functionality and weighing less than 200g, you can use the included metal plate to enable attachment.
• When the phone weighs more than 200g or has a protective case, a MagSafe-compatible case is required to enhance the magnetic strength.
• For heavier devices, such as phones over 300g, you can use a strong magnetic ring. We recommend the MOGICS Ring, which provides a powerful magnetic force of 2250gf while being only 1.7mm thick, ensuring it can securely hold even tablets.

Height of the screen center point

On average, people spend about 3 to 4 hours on their phones. According to the International Ergonomics Association (IEA), excessive forward tilting of the head significantly increases the strain on the neck and shoulders. Maintaining the correct eye angle while using a phone can reduce shoulder and neck strain as well as eye fatigue.

The IEA recommends that the distance between the phone and the eyes should be between 30 to 40 cm. The line of sight should be slightly downward, at approximately 15° to 20°, to maintain a natural neck curvature and reduce muscle tension.

CardPOD is designed with angle and height adjustments in mind. It utilizes a telescopic sliding rail and a spring-loaded pivot mechanism. By sliding and extending the device, the support legs automatically spring open, allowing it to stand securely. It can be raised up to 22 cm, meeting the IEA's recommendations

Screen perpendicular to the line of sight

Research by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) highlights that glare on screens is caused by environmental light reflecting off the screen, which reduces readability and contrast, leading to increased visual fatigue. The design of CardPOD aims to address this by raising the height, thus reducing the common habit of viewing phones at an angle, which decreases reflections and glare to protect your eyes. The vertical screen position provides better video and selfie angles, ensuring your face appears as natural and true-to-life as possible, making each interaction more confident and comfortable.

Many phone stands meet the height requirements but are often bulky and hard to carry. We're aiming to challenge this by creating a phone stand that is lightweight and portable, yet still offers adequate height.

CardPOD uses special engineering materials (PC+gf) and a unique arch-shaped design to achieve maximum strength while reducing its thickness to just 0.78 cm—about the size of a credit card. This compact design allows it to fit easily into a wallet or pocket, ensuring it's always on hand when needed.

CardPOD’s magnetic fixation design allows for 360-degree seamless rotation of the phone, enabling instant switching between landscape and portrait modes when changing apps.

In addition to providing unrestricted angle adjustments for photography, CardPOD addresses the challenge posed by increasingly large phones. When lying down and using your phone, it often feels too heavy or risky to hold securely. The extended legs of CardPOD offer a more comfortable grip, allowing you to use your phone in the most relaxed and effortless way.

With CardPOD, camera tripods that were left unused due to the powerful photography capabilities of smartphones are given a new lease on life. CardPod comes with an M4 to 1/4'' adapter, converting the tripod’s 1/4" screw mount into a magnetic fixation. This not only prevents clip-style holders from pressing on side buttons or scratching the phone but also allows for quick attachment of the phone to the tripod. It makes rotating between portrait and landscape modes effortless, enhancing the overall shooting experience.
